Attractive even when not in bloom, its green leaves are neatly edged in white while the new growth is a delightful rose-pink. It forms a compact clump. Though its parentage includes 'Siskiyou Pink', 'Passionate Rainbow' PP17002 has a very different flower formation; the pink flowers form at the tips and on side branches rather than on long wispy stems. In the landscape, it has tested to be more compact and more tightly flowering than a typical gaura.Gauras are tough plants that are easy and fast growing. The perform best in full sun. They tolerate a wide range of soils from sandy to clay based although performs best in well-drained, moist and fertile soil with occasional to regular summer watering. A particularly good choice for water wise gardens, G. Passionate Rainbow will grow in hot, dry conditions, however, mulching and occasional deep watering during extended dry periods is recommended. Gauras are cold and frost tolerant.
