It is a sun-loving plant and is very heat and drought tolerant. It also makes a dense, low-growing ground cover, reaching 2 to 4 inches tall. Select a well-drained location in the garden as Dichondra does not like soggy soil. Considered to be a tender perennial, Dichondra Emerald Falls, will winter in frost free zones, but will be an annual in areas of heavy frost.
