Known for being a Xeriscape grass mix due to its extreme drought tolerance For low growing native seed blend. Typically will not grow over 12 inches tall if never mowed. Perfect for the low maintenance areas you do not want to mow, fertilizer, or water. Sow seed at 1/2 - 1 LB per 1,000 square feet. Soil temperature needs to be 65 degrees or warmer. If you are looking for a dwarf, low growing, drought tolerant lawn grass seed mix then this Short Grass Mix is for you. This mixture of blue grama, buffalo grass, sideoats grama, and sheep's fescue gives you the perfect blend of the most drought tolerant grasses on the market today. This is considered the ultimate xeriscape grass seed mix for the Great Plains area and other dry climates in the transition zone. If left unmowed, this mixture will not grow over 8 to 12 inches tall. Buffalo grass is a fine-leaved, native, sod-forming, warm-season, perennial and is the dominant species on the short-grass region of the central Great Plains. Generally, it grows 4 to 8 inches high and produces leaves less than 1/8 inch wide and 3 to 6 inches long.
