The Garmin Edge 840 Sensor Bundle includes the Garmin Speed and Cadence Sensor 2, HRM-Dual Heart Monitor in addition to the out-front mount, standard mount, tether and USB-C cable. The Garmin Speed and Cadence sensor 2 accessories are easy-to-install wireless sensors that provide live speed, distance and cadence data. The included HRM-Dual heart rate strap transmits real-time heart rate data over ANT+ connectivity and BLUETOOTH and has a 3.5-year battery life. Multi-band GNSS satellite technology is built into every Edge 840, providing cyclists with enhanced position accuracy so you will stay on track no matter where your training may take you. A preloaded Garmin cycling ride-type specific basemap includes worldwide MTB trail data from Trailforks. This information ensures that riders know what s around them, where they are, and how to efficiently get back to their starting point with ease. Trendline popularity routing will give riders the best route possible choosing from roads and trails you frequent most and offers off-course recalculation so when you are off your specified trail, the Edge 840 easily gets you back on course! Real-time stamina gives riders insight on their rides to see just how long they can continue training and riding. Daily suggested workouts with targeted adaptive coaching will show riders training prompts on the Edge 840 that pertain specifically to your current training loads, recovery rates, and upcoming events. While you ride, you will see remaining ascent and grades while you climb so you can gauge your efforts and view through the Garmin Connect app on your compatible smartphone for future ride planning. When paired to your compatible smartphone, the Edge 840 gives you access to smart notifications, LiveTrack and GroupTrack, rider to rider messaging, and offers a built-in incident detection. Stay connected with up to 50 of your friends and send preset notes from your Edge to another Edge user with the LiveTrack and Rider to Rider feature. Keeping safety in mind, Garmin has built the Edge 840 with the ability to pair to Garmin s Varia line of cycling awareness devices such as a rearview radar and smart bike lights. When paired with your 840 Edge, the Varia radar (sold separately) displays alerts for approaching cars from behind and if an incident occurs, the Edge can automatically send your location to an emergency contact in the event of an emergency. Seeing and being seen gives an added peace of mind.
