Prune for shape and control size USDA Hardiness Zones: Typically Zones 7-11 The Waxleaf Ligustrum is a large multi-stemmed, broadleaf evergreen shrub that maintains a very dense, symmetrical and rounded canopy. Uses in the landscape range from large shrub, privacy hedge (when mass planted), or use as an evergreen ornamental tree. Waxleaf Ligustrums have 2 to 3 inch long leaves that are stiff and leathery with a glossy deep green color on top and a lighter silver-gray color underside. Large clusters of white flowers will bloom from mid-summer to autumn. Each cluster that is produced has hundreds of white flowers and each cluster can range from 6-12 inches long. In the summer Waxleaf Ligustrums produce small green berries that turn blue to purple-black in the fall. Once established, it is drought tolerant and has a medium salt tolerance. Growth rate is approximately 2 feet per year; at maturity they can reach a height and width between 10-15+ feet.
