As Smiths boats started to receive awards such as the coveted Gold Cup of the American Power Boat Association, the Chris Craft name started to become a star among nautical enthusiasts. He continued to thrive in the speedboat competitions and his string of victories further accelerated the explosion of his companys success.About the Chris Craft Runabout model ship Chris Crafts were first produce in the 1910's as high end powerboats. Throughout the years, Chris Craft became the synonymous boating. It is available as a FULLY ASSEMBLED model ready to be proudly display. Master craftsmen handcraft these highly detailed wood models from scratch using historical photographs, drawings and original plan. They are built to scale with high-grade wood such as: western red cedar, rosewood, and mahogany. They are 100% hand built individually using plank-on-frame construction method and are similar to the building of actual ships. Each model requires hundreds of hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop. This Chris Runabout has hand stitched brown leather interior. The gauges have detailed lettering to feature a realistic look. All the ornaments on the ship are made out metal to make the boat really stand out.. There are two flags that represent the Chris Craft heritage. This model comes with a wooden stand. It'll make a perfect gift for home or office decorator, boat enthusiast, or passionate collector.
