This Bearcat scanner is also designed to be compatible with your computer to program it to suit your needs. It only requires two AA batteries for operation. The BC75XLT scanner is designed to receive conventional Analog communications, it does not support Digital communications. Some Police/Fire/Emergency/Public Safety Agencies in larger cities are now switching over to Digital communication systems. Before purchasing, please confirm whether the communication you want to receive is Digital or Analog.
