Partial Shade to Full Sun (At Least 4 Hours of Direct Sunlight)Mature Height 6 - 8 FeetMature Spread 1 - 2 FeetGrowing Zones 4 - 9Use As A Thriller In ContainersThe large and elaborate blue-purple flowers of the Lindsay™ Clematis will stop you in your tracks. Growing to around 6 to 8 feet tall, the Lindsay™ Clematis develops lush green foliage, which offers a lovely contrast against its 6 to 7-inch blooms. Blooming around mid-summer, the Clematis uvaria 'Lindsay' can also rebloom into early fall, extending the season.Ideal for growing in a pot up an obelisk, you can also train Lindsay™ Clematis along a fence or wall. Being deciduous, it dies back in the winter before new vigorous growth appears in the spring. Lindsay™ is suitable for growing in zones 4 to 9. Lindsay™ Clematis CareThe best blooms are produced when the Lindsay™ Clematis is grown in full sun to part shade in moist, but well-drained fertile soil. Although drought tolerant once established, watering during dry spells is recommended. Fertilizing with a low-nitrogen feed in spring will help maintain plant health and encourage an amazing floral display come summer. As a group 3 clematis, simply prune the old growth back to around 12 inches above soil level, cutting just above a pair of buds. When grown in a pot or container, more frequent irrigation will be required to prevent the soil from drying out completely. Lindsay™ Clematis SpacingWhen established, the Lindsay™ Clematis can grow to 6 to 8 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide. When planting more than one specimen along a wall, a spacing of 24 to 30 inches is recommended.Lindsay™ Clematis InformationUSDA Hardiness Zones: 4 - 9Plant Type: PerennialsLight Exposure: Partial Shade to Full Sun (At Least 4 Hours of Direct Sunlight)Mature Height: 6 - 8 FeetMature Spread: 1 - 2 FeetSpacing: 2 - 3 FeetHabit: Mounded, Trailing, UprightFlower Color(s): Blue, PurpleFlower Description: Bluish PurpleBloom Period: Spring to FallFoliage Type: Evergreen, HerbaceousFoliage Color(s): GreenFoliage Description: Green ShadesSeasonal Interest: Spring Flowering, Summer Flowering, Fall Flowering, 3 Season InterestWatering: AverageResists: Deer, Disease, Pests & InsectsTolerates: N/AAttracts: Butterflies, HummingbirdsContainer Role: ThrillerUses: Specimen or Focal PointFeatures: Attracts Pollinators, Low MaintenanceBrand: Common Name: Lindsay™ ClematisOther Name(s): Leather Flower, Old Man's Beard, Traveller's Joy, Vase Vine, Virgin's BowerScientific Name: Clematis uvaria 'Lindsay' | Perennials > Clematis > Group 3 Clematis Plant Addicts CLELYQT
