A Proven Winners ColorChoice Flowering Shrubs variety, Chamaecyparis Cedar Rapids False Cypress is an evergreen tree offering year-round interest. It has a fast growth rate and a naturally dense, pyramidal habit of lush, fresh-looking, lime-green foliage. It is a great specimen but, mass planted, it quickly creates a uniquely textured privacy screen or hedge. Although the berries are ornamentally insignificant, they are a nutritious food source for birds. Cedar Rapids grows best in sunny to partly sunny locations with fertile, medium moist soils but is adaptable to most soil if it is well draining. No pruning is required, but any desired pruning should be done in early summer. Deer resistant.
