The colorful flower buds provide color and visual interest during the winter. When the bold red flowers open, the lighter-colored center gives the blooms dimension. Dark green leathery foliage comes to a rounded point, and as a broadleaf evergreen, the leaves stay in place throughout the winter. Holden's Red Rhododendron has a woody, well-branched growth habit and makes a wonderful hedge or foundation planting. Add height to the back of a mixed bed or create a springtime focal point.
