If you are attaching to a crossover post, it's recommended to cut the PVC insert that is located in the top rail 1/2in. shorter so it can be easily installed. For stair applications, once you installed the balusters, those are recommended to be trimmed at a stair angle, so no lifting occurs.The Westbury Tuscany C10 Railing Kit will arrive with one top rail and one bottom rail that features pre drilled baluster slots for easy installation.
