These 8" blooms open in strawberry red and lighten as they mature to apricot and pale yellow. It blooms in abundance and as each flower opens and matures in its own time, you'll often have a range of elegant, complementary colors painted across this plant. This unusual look isn't the only benefit Julia Rose brings to your garden. This peony produces a spicy scent that'll delight you during garden walks. Once established, it'll provide as many as 50 blooms per season, and the more years Julia Rose spends in your garden, the more impressive of a performance you'll get. Strong stems won't flop and lush foliage stays attractive all season-long. Paeonia x 'Julia Rose'Peonies have few requirements: give them a sunny well-drained location, plant 2-4' apart, with the eyes (new buds at the crown) no more than 2" below soil level and apply fertilizer or compost in spring. They take a while to establish, often 3 years before the first bloom-but the wait is worth it. They are heirloom quality. Let them grow undisturbed and they will bring joy to you and your loved ones through the decades.
