USDA Hardiness Zone: 3 -8. Names. Garden Phlox, is common known as Include Fall Phlox, Perennial Phlox, Summer Phlox, and Panicled Phlox. Pollinators-Friendly. Plant it and you will see beneficial pollinators, such as butterflies and bees dance and sing happily round the beautiful bloom. Good-cut flowers. Phlox make good-cut flowers and are great in containers or window boxes. They will look great filling in a flowerbed, or as a border edging. Sow. Sow Phlox seeds early in the season and cover lightly with 1/8" of soil. Water thoroughly once. Keep the soil moist at 16°-18°C (60°-65°F) until the seeds sprout. Instructions Of Planting Garden Phlox Phlox paniculata is an erect herbaceous perennial growing to 120 cm (47 in) tall by 100 cm (39 in) wide, with opposite, simple leaves on slender green stems. The flowers are 1.5-2.5 cm (0.6-1.0 in) in diameter, often strongly fragrant and borne in summer through fall (autumn). The flowers are grouped in panicles (with many branching stems), hence the specific epithet paniculata. The plants are grown from seeds. Phlox seeds can be directly seeded into your flower garden. SOW. For outdoor starts, sow Phlox seeds early in the season and cover lightly with 1/8" of fine garden or potting soil. Water thoroughly once. Then, keep the soil moist while the seeds sprout.Also, you can start them indoors for transplanting later. For early blooms, start the plants indoors six to eight weeks before the last frost. Young seedlings will transplant well into their permanent home.Plants can also be propagated by division.
