Created by master potter Tony Holman, the French-style grater is hand thrown on a wheel in his studio, and finished with an earthy, stippled glaze. The spiral of ridges, resembling a fossilized fern or ancient seashell emerging from the clay, are not sharp to the touch, but rub a garlic clove back and forth across them for a few seconds, and you have fresh shredded garlic that's ready to add to your pasta sauce or casserole.
