A showy, fast growing, tropical, clumping Ornamental Grass with long slender green tinged burgundy leaves. Topped by feathery pinkish coppery purple plumes from summer to fall. Grows 3-5 ft. tall with a similar width. A popular plant for patio pots, as a desert garden specimen, as a gracefully arching accent plant, as the centerpiece of a combo patio pot, or in cut flower arrangements. Best foliage color occurs when planted in full sun, grows in almost any well drained non-boggy soil. Tends to die back and turn brown at least partially during winter, providing nesting material for birds. Grow outdoors as a warm weather perennial only in USDA Plant Zones 9-11, in all other areas the plant is typically grown as an annual and replaced each year.
