It is a good choice for a tall ground cover that works well as a foundation plant, dense hedge, or other small group arrangements. HEDGE SHRUB: This evergreen shrub can get 3-6 feet tall and 3-6 feet wide. The lush evergreen foliage is perfect for creating seamless, low-growing hedge rows that can provide texture and structure to your landscape. LOW MAINTENANCE: Ilex compacta can tolerate pruning into topiary shapes, making it a good choice for formal gardens or patios. Prune as needed in midsummer or late winter. Late spring is a good time for trimming holly bushes if pruning for hedges. USDA ZONES: Compact holly is hardy in USDA Zones 6-9. Plant in full sun to provide optimum growth.
