Two Large, Live plants - ready to grow, premium herb plants, 4" to 8" tall plants, in 4" pots Non-GMO, No Neonicotinoids - so you can grow fresh produce thats healthy for your family and pollinators. 10x Root Development - robust plants with healthy roots that handle transplanting better and grow stronger right from the start. Gets you to a faster, more productive harvest. The flavor of Sweet Thai Basil is more stable with high heat and longer cooking times of Asian foods Great for growing in containers, or in the garden. Spicy Anise-clove like flavor and hearty aroma. Includes a Clovers Garden Copyrighted Plant Care Sheet. The Sweet Thai Basil plant, also known as Thai Basil or Asian Basil is a type of sweet basil native to Southeast Asia that has been cultivated to provide distinctive traits. Its flavor is more stable under high or extended cooking temperatures than that of other sweet basil varieties, making it the perfect basil choice for Asian cooking. Sweet Thai Basil has green 2" long leaves with a spicy, anise-clove flavor and a hearty aroma that compliments the hot spicy flavors of Asian cuisine. When flowering, it has attractive purple stems and blooms. Pick the leaves and use fresh or dried in Asian stir-fry dishes, any tomato dishes, pasta sauces, vegetables and soups. You can also use it in the garden as a companion plant to repel aphids, mites, and tomato hornworms. Place plants 12-18 inches apart in a partial sun area ( they can tolerate full sun if needed) It requires a rich well-draining soil with adequate watering ( basil does not need as much watering as other plants, just regular watering) On a growing plant, pinch out growing tips to encourage bushier plants and to delay flowering and seeds. Plants will grow 12 to 24 inches tall, and will supply you with fresh basil until frost. If you allow the flowers to grow and go to seed, your basil growth will stop, though the purple stemmed flowers and seeds are a great addition to dried flower arrangements.
