Harris Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth is an all-natural Diatomaceous Earth that is used as an anti-caking agent when mixed in animal feed. Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is composed of shells from Diatoms that drift to the bottom of the lake bed or ocean and form layers. These Diatom shells are not food and are not digested. When these tiny shells pass through the digestive tract, they absorb positively-charged viruses and bacteria, hold them, and take them out of the body, which effectively destroys parasites. The process is entirely physical and not a chemical action. This is also OMRI (Organic Minerals Research Institute) listed for organic use and is guaranteed to be free from additives.
