Cortaderia Selloana, commonly known as Pampas Grass, is a flowering plant native to southern South America, including the Pampas region after which it is named. There are around 25 species in the genus Cortaderia. Cortaderia is an evergreen Perennial growing to 3 m (9ft) by 1.2 m (4ft in) at a fast rate. Flowering occurs primarily in late summer.Plants are fully grown, from seed germination to maturity, in 2-4 years.The center stems of pampas grass will die after one growing season, but new shoots of leaves arise from the edge of the plant to increase its size.The life span of pampas grass is 10-15 years.
