This emoji themed reading journal (Google Slideshow file) is a way for students to monitor and record their thinking on a digital reading journal for nonfiction text. Students hunt for their emoji moments (reference key describes what each emoji represents) and stop to reflect on the moment using their digital sticky notes. Depending on the layout you decide, students can "mark" their emoji (interactive element), explain their emoji moment, and cite the text where the moment was "born" in the informational text they are reading. Because you can assign the digital journal on Google Classroom, you can easily track student progress. Included are:Editable slides to customize your journal.
