CULTURE Soil temperature: 70 degrees fahrenheit Germination lighting: Light required Germination days: 20 days Plant spread: 24" Plant height: 24'' Plant type: Annual Maturation days: 55 days Good for all zones Balsam are best direct seeded after the threat of frost in spring has passed and when soil temperatures warm to 70 degrees. Sow into enriched garden soil and lightly dust with peat as they need light to germinate. Prefer moist garden areas but are very low maintenance. Can be started 6 weeks early in pots and transplanted after your last frost in the spring.
