Heuchera micrantha 'Palace Purple', commonly called Coral Bells, will knock your socks off with his leathery mahogany colored foliage that lives up to its royal name because it is certainly king of all the other Heucheras on the market. Especially sturdy and easily grown, this clump-forming, evergreen perennial features a (12 inch tall) mound of ivy-like (3 to 4 inch wide) leaves reminiscent of those you would see on a maple tree. Mahogany, reddish-purple on top and beet-red underneath, the foliage adds rich color to any garden. In hot summers, Palace Purple's foliage color may fade to a bronze-green. From late spring to early summer, the dark mound of leaves serve as an elegant backdrop to creamy-white, bell-shaped flowers on slender dark red stems extend (15-25 inches high) mimicking a starlit summer night. Interesting Fact Named 1991 Perennial Plant of the Year . Spacing 12 - 18 inches. Mature height 8 - 12 inches. Full sun, Part sun. Zones: 3-8.
