Often referred to as Cluster Bellflower, it produces violet blue blooms that are bell-shaped and grow in showy clusters. Grow Bellflowers in full sun and in soil that is well-draining. Trim back after blooming to maintain a compact, mounding habit. Start the Campanula seed indoors 6 - 8 weeks before the end of frost season. Press the seed firmly into the soil and do not cover. Keep the seed continuously moist, and maintain a temperature of 68F. Germination is usually within 21 days. Transplant outdoors after frost danger has passed and space the plants 12 inches apart.
