This book is a suspenseful and tension-building story that follows the story of Tessa, a teen survivor of a horrible crime. The narration is fantastic, from the southern drawl of a friend, to teenager, to the whimsical neighbor, and the writing itself is vivid and descriptive. The story is told in alternating chapters, and the characters are compelling, but there are too many unanswered questions and too much of a convenience. Despite this, the book is still enjoyable and the narrator breathes life into each character.
