Miss Sandra resulted from a pollination between an 'unregistered purple flower seedling' female parent and Tonto as the male parent. These beautiful crape myrtle trees displays large, long lasting clusters actually masses of purple flowers that start in June and last well into the latter part of August. Miss Sandra develops a thick crown branching with good foliage cover. At maturity it can reach a height of 19 feet a width of 8-10 feet. It has displayed a high level of field resistance to bacterial spot, powdery mildew, and leaf spot. USDA Zones 7-9.
