Being native to China, this deciduous shrub is hardy, heat-loving, cold tolerable and pest and disease resistant, perfect for the southern United States. This shrub is a multi-stemmed, dense growing deciduous shrub with smooth peeling bark decorated with dark green foliage that turn a golden yellow orange in the fall. Clusters of showy, abundant, ruffled red flowers blooming from early July to September lasting sometimes anywhere from 3 to 4 months every blooming period. Pruning any spent flowers will prolong their flowering periods as well. Full sun to partial sun. Attracts birds, bees and butterflies Drought tolerant once established. Pink flowers, non-fragrant Pet safe, non-toxic
