Areas of the North Country remain under a winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service. That warning runs until Sunday at 10am. Here’s what the NWS says: Heavy snow and lake effect snow with additional snow accumulations of 10 to 18 inches across the Tug Hill and northern Oswego County with lower amounts of 5 to 10 inches elsewhere.

Mother Nature may not be done with Northern New York just yet. The National Weather Service is extending the Winter Storm Warning to 1 p.m. Saturday, December 7 for Jefferson and Lewis counties. The warning was supposed to expire at 4 a.

A winter event is rolling into southern Manitoba, bringing mixed precipitation, including freezing rain, heavy snow and strong wind gusts, making travel hazardous in some parts of the province.

On Wednesday at 3:29 p.m. an updated winter storm warning was issued by the National Weather Service valid from 4 p.m. until Friday 1 p.m. for Clearfield, Cambria and Somerset counties.

The cold front will move across the Great Lakes into northeastern states by Thursday, bringing likely hazardous travel conditions.

Both Jefferson and Lewis counties are in line for another blast of winter weather. The National Weather Service in Buffalo has upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning for the two counties until 4 p.m. Friday 6.
