US labour union the UAW has said it has filed federal unfair labour practices charges at the National Labor Relations Board for Stellantis’ refusal to provide information about the company’s plans regarding product commitments it made in the UAW’s 2023 collective bargaining agreement.

Stellantis NV said Monday it filed nine federal lawsuits against the United Auto Workers and two dozen union locals late last week it tries to prevent the union from calling a mid-contract strike over its delays reopening an Illinois assembly plant.

Stellantis intends to file another lawsuit against the UAW after a local chapter allegedly held a strike authorization vote without completing the required procedure steps first.
