Russia has continuously targeted port and grain storage facilities in Odesa since pulling out of a deal that allowed Ukrainian grain exports to countries facing the threat of hunger.

Russia unleashed a major missile and drone assault against Odessa in southern Ukraine in the early hours of Monday, killing at least two people, cutting power and badly damaging the port, including grain infrastructure.

Russian drones and missiles fired on Odesa destroyed grain stores at the Black Sea port, according to Ukrainian authorities. Southern defence forces said Moscow had directed 19 Shahed drones, two Onyx supersonic missiles and 12 Kalibr missiles at the city.

Ukraine’s air force reported downing all Russian drones launched overnight, but one of 12 Kalibr missiles and two P-800 Oniks cruise missiles got through.
