Air alarms are still sounding in Kyiv, as Russia launches the third attack on Ukraine’s capital in 24 hours. Falling debris has injured one person and caused a fire in a private house, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said a few minutes ago.

The head of Ukraine ’s military intelligence has warned Russia of a revenge attack following fresh missile strikes. General Kyrylo Budanov described the wave of attacks on Monday as an attempt to “intimidate us”, adding that Russia would “regret it very soon.”

Russia hit Kyiv with an array of missile fire on Monday in a surprise daytime attack, hours after an overnight barrage of the Ukrainian capital and across the country.

The Ukrainian capital Kyiv shook from several explosions in the early hours today after Russia fired more than 40 missiles and drones in its biggest such attack since the war began in February last year. “A missile shot down near Kyiv,” the city’s mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram. “Air defence working!”
