A frigate of the Russian Black Sea Fleet launched an attack with four cruise missiles on Ukraine's military infrastructure, Russia's defence ministry said early on Wednesday.

The assault on energy infrastructure, a significant theater in the war, followed a large-scale Russian drone attack on Kyiv.

The Russians targeted military facilities and critical infrastructure in their latest drone attack on Ukraine, Air Force spokesperson Yuriy Ihnat said on national television on Nov. 30.

Russian forces were ramping up attacks in eastern Ukraine on Wednesday, Moscow and Kyiv said, as they vie to secure elusive territorial gains before the end of the year. Poland also reiterated support for Kyiv by announcing it was boycotting an international security meeting due Thursday over the invitation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
