A group of conservatives picked by the Florida governor to oversee how Disney operates has been neutered with a contract that could last decades.

Disney and the previous Reedy Creek board agreed to revert decisions back to Disney World, which could render DeSantis’ board powerless.

King Charles III is playing a bizarre role in a messy dispute between the governor of Florida and Disney World which has gay rights as a backdrop.

The board announced that a hired special council discovered agreements were made in February between Disney and Reedy Creek, weeks ahead of the signing of HB-9B, which handed over direct control of the district’s development rights and privileges to the company.

Florida Legislation dissolved Disney’s self-governing district following the company’s public opposition to the state’s “Don’t Say Gay” legislation.

The panel installed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said the Reedy Creek Improvement District transferred much of its power to Disney in an 11th-hour agreement.

Those agreements gave the company wide-ranging powers over the territory where the theme parks operate, and prohibit the new board members from changing the terms. The agreements
