Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that his country’s forces would take control of the entire Gaza Strip.

Israel has launched a new wave of air and ground operations across Gaza, and the army ordered the evacuation of the enclave's second-largest city, Khan Younis, where Israel carried out a massive operation earlier in the war that left much of the area in ruins.

Israel had blocked the entry of medical, food and fuel supplies into Gaza since the start of March to try to pressure Hamas into freeing its hostages.

Israel's offensive is the largest since the ceasefire ended in March, the Israeli military said. Dozens of children were killed, hospitals and medics said.
