Missourians will vote on Amendment Three in November. Amendment Three asks voters if they want to restore access to abortion in Missouri and protect access to birth control. If it passes, Missouri would become the first state to overturn a total abortion ban with a vote of the people.

Supporters of abortion rights may be set up to deliver another decisive rebuke of conservative-led efforts to ban or restrict abortion at the state level.

The swift decision by the Missouri Supreme Court followed several 11th hour attempts by Republican politicians to keep the proposal off the ballot.
