DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip — Malnutrition rates among children in the Gaza Strip have doubled since Israel imposed sharp restrictions on the entry of food in March, the U.N. said Tuesday. New Israeli strikes killed more than 90 Palestinians, including dozens of women and children, according to health officials.

TEL AVIV, Israel — Five Israeli soldiers were killed in an attack in the northern Gaza Strip, Israel's military said Tuesday, while health officials in the Palestinian territory said that 51 people were killed in Israeli strikes.

Among those martyred was Yousef al-Zaq, identified as the world’s former youngest prisoner, who died when his family’s apartment on al-Thawra Street in central Gaza City was bombed. Yousef was born in an Israeli prison in 2008 to his mother, freed prisoner Fatima al-Zaq, who was detained at the time.

A stampede at a food distribution site run by an Israeli-backed American organization in the Gaza Strip killed 20 Palestinians on Wednesday.
