Israel and Iran have begun a new round of attacks, as the conflict between the two heavily armed rivals enters its fourth day.

Since the war in Gaza broke out, however, those attacks have stepped up. In September last year, Israel killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, followed in October with the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, considered to be the architect of the 7 October attacks. These two groups are Iran's closest proxies in the region.
