Israel is bombarding the southern Gaza Strip with airstrikes and artillery shells after a weeklong truce with the terror group Hamas collapsed Friday. The Israel Defense Forces says it struck more than 200 terrorist targets and fighting has resumed with Hezbollah terrorists on the country's northern border with Lebanon.

Gaza’s main road is a “battlefield,” the Israel Defense Forces has said, as it claimed it was opening a new humanitarian corridor for civilians to evacuate. The advance of Israeli forces in the north and east of Khan Younis means civilians can no longer travel along the Salah al-Din road that runs through the Palestinian territory,
