While advocates continue to back legislation that would outlaw or limit abortion though Ohio has a constitutional amendment protecting reproductive rights, a new bill goes too far for many abortion opponents.

Republican lawmakers in Ohio are planning on introducing a bill on Wednesday that would ban almost all abortions and criminalize the procedure.

The Ohio Prenatal Equal Protection Act would grant criminal and civil protections from the moment of fertilization.
