George Foreman, the legendary boxer who set a record as the oldest-ever heavyweight champion, served as a minister after becoming a born again Christian, and achieved perhaps his greatest reknown as the spokesperson for a popular grill named after him, died Friday, his family announced. He was 76.

George Foreman died at the age of 76 on Friday, March 21, his family announced. Foreman was a two-time boxing heavyweight champion. He also sold a line of successful grills named after himself.

Foreman won his first world heavyweight championship in 1973 and lost it a year later to Muhammad Ali in the famous Rumble in the Jungle fight.

Family, friends and the public are set to remember boxing legend George Foreman at a memorial service in his hometown of Houston.
