Ford Motor Company is recalling roughly 142,522 of these vehicles in the U.S. over concerns that the battery monitor sensor under the hood is easily damaged and could short circuit, overheating nearby components and spontaneously erupting in flames.

Ford Motor Co. announced on Friday that it is recalling more than 140,000 of its vehicles over a risk of their battery monitor sensor overheating and possibly catching fire. The company said in a statement that customers who own certain Lincoln MKC vehicles from model years 2015 to 2019 should park their vehicles outside

The automaker has advised consumers of certain models of the luxury SUV to park their vehicles outside and "away from structures."

Ford is telling owners of more than 140,000 SUVs in the U.S. to park them outside because they can catch fire even when the engines are turned off.

Ford's Lincoln division has recalled nearly 143,000 SUVs to fix an issue that may cause an engine fire even when the vehicle is parked. Ford also reported May sales, and they're certainly a mixed bag.
