A Colorado prosecutor says two paramedics ”did nothing” to help an ailing Elijah McClain and instead injected him with a fatal overdose of a powerful sedative during a 2019 police stop.

The third and final trial over Mr. McClain’s 2019 death will examine the role of the medics who responded while the young Black man was in police custody.

BRIGHTON, Colo. (CN) — The trial began on Wednesday for two Aurora first responders who face manslaughter charges after administering a fatal dose of ketamine to 23-year-old Elijah McClain on Aug. 24, 2019, after he was stopped by police on his way home from purchasing iced tea.
