New York’s Central Park tied a record high of 96 degrees for the date Monday, which was set in 1888. In neighboring New Jersey, 16 people were sent to the emergency room following a sweltering set of graduations.

The combination of scorching temperatures and tropical-feeling air will make it feel like it's up to 110 degrees in some parts of the state.

Tuesday was sweltering in Boston, with actual temperatures reaching the triple digits and breaking records across Massachusetts. It was the third consecutive day that hit 90 degrees, marking an official heat wave that will continue for inland areas tomorrow.
