Lanes were closed on the 5 Freeway Tuesday afternoon due to a brush fire burning in the Castaic area. The fire, estimated at about 40 acres, was not threatening structures in the hills north of Los Angeles.

The blaze, named the Bert Fire, broke out near The Old Road and Biscailuz Drive, and reached 47 acres on Tuesday afternoon.
