A California black bear with a "long history of human conflict" was euthanized earlier this week after breaking into a trailer and swiping at a camper near Lake Tahoe, state wildlife officials said.

The CDFW and California State Parks described the bear as a "danger to public safety" in the south Lake Tahoe area.

The vast majority of the negative bear interactions stem from bird feeders and trash in yards, according to DEEP.
