A well-known home goods retailer is the latest to file for bankruptcy, dealing with financial struggles and a tough market. With hundreds of stores across the country, they’re planning to close a couple dozen locations as part of a big restructuring effort.

At Home, the Texas-based home décor and furniture retailer, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and announced plans to close 26 of its stores by September 30, 2025. The move comes as the company struggles with high debt, rising costs, and changes in consumer spending.

At Home is expected to close the following three locations in New Jersey: - Princeton: 301 Nassau Park Blvd. The stores are expected to close by the end of the year, and additional stores could close in the future. We'll have to wait and see, but I'll keep you posted if I hear of any other locations closing.

"These newly imposed tariffs and the uncertainty of ongoing U.S. trade negotiations intensified the financial pressure on the company," At Home noted.
