In 2024, Deadline reported that Greg Daniels, the producer responsible for Americanizing Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s beloved original British series The Office, had opened up a development room for a potential follow-up series.

Greg Daniels, who adapted Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s UK show “The Office” for American audiences, created “The Paper” with Michael Koman (“Nathan For You,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien”). Gervais and Merchant are also producers of the new show.

The Dunder Mifflin documentary crew is heading to a newspaper in "The Office" spinoff "The Paper," coming to Peacock this fall.
