Saturday night in Los Angeles, a maddening deficit turned into a thrilling comeback for the again-undermanned Timbers team. But just as quickly as Portland regained the momentum, LAFC’s Denis Bouanga erased all doubt with a game-winner in stoppage time as Portland’s road trip continued in bizarre fashion amid a 3-2 loss.

Denis Bouanga scored in the second minute of stoppage time, Timothy Tillman added a goal and Los Angeles FC beat the Portland Timbers 3-2.

The dynamic French forward put himself in the mix again late in the half, and while LAFC’s go-ahead goal didn’t register in Bouanga’s column his presence was enough to force an own-goal against Timbers defender Kamal Miller, who went to ground to try and deny the back end of a cross to Olivera.
