The agent, whose identity has not been disclosed, was involved with the vice president’s departure from Joint Base Andrews on Monday for a trip to Wisconsin.

Two sources briefed on the situation told CBS News the agent spouted gibberish, was speaking incoherently and provoked another officer physically.

A Secret Service agent assigned to Vice President Kamala Harris was removed after displaying “distressing” behaviour, the agency said. The incident occurred on 22 April at around 9am when the Secret Service agent was helping Ms Harris’ departure from Joint Base Andrews.
