Orioles top prospect Jackson Holliday has struggled in his first games back in the minor leagues. After struggling in his first major league stint, it might take him some time to find his game again in Triple-A.

The path for Jackson Holliday will be different than other top prospects. But that doesn’t mean the Orioles’ “track record” can’t apply.

Holliday, 20, the top prospect in all of baseball, rejoined the Norfolk Tides on Saturday after being optioned to Triple-A by the parent Baltimore Orioles a day earlier.

The Orioles’ lauded youngster — ranked as MLB pipeline’s No. 1 prospect in baseball — was sent back down to Triple-A Norfolk amid a terrible start with the team. The Orioles called Holliday up to the major league roster on April 10, but he’s struggled through a nightmarish few weeks.

The Orioles sent Jackson Holliday back down to Triple-A on Friday. It wasn’t the way they hoped his first major league stint would go.

Nothing about Holliday's career with the Orioles went as expected, and it's over for now, with the top prospect headed back to the Triple-A.
