DETROIT – A 4-year-old boy is dead after a three-car crash in which his mother is the at-fault driver and is suspected of having been intoxicated, police said. It happened around 1:10 p.m. Monday on northbound I-75 near Piquette Avenue. Dispatchers received reports of a three-car crash in which a child was possibly hit.

Shawnee police were dispatched to the area of W 75th Street and Nieman Road around 10:50 a.m. on reports of a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian. The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital in serious but stable condition, SPD reported. The driver stayed on the scene to talk with officers.
